That's right!!! Last night, the Padres completed their 4 game sweep of the Marlins. Of course it ended in dramatic fasion. On Trevor Hoffman Day the Pads offense got going early with 3 in the 1st. The inning started with Will Venable lauching a ball 374 feet over the right field wall. Five batters later Kyle Banks stepped up and plated Cameron Maybin and Orlando Hudson with his double to left center making it 3-0. The Marlins offense got a little spark when Mike Stanton homered to left field (393 feet) in the top of the 4th. That was the last offense till John Buck hit a sac fly to Will Venable making it 3-2. Then Bell came in to try and get a 4 out save. He got the first 3 out and the only thing keeping the bells from ringing on Trevor Hoffman Day was Mike Cameron who go a 2-0 pitch middle in and blasted it 400 feet into the Well Fargo Building tieing it up at 3. In the bottom of the 9th former Padre Edward Mujica came in and the first batter he faced was Nick Hundley. Then the unexpected happened when Hundley drove a ball to deep center over the centerfielders head and he chugged all the way around to third for a triple. After two intentional wall the bases were loaded for who else, Will Venable. The Marlins then brought in lefty Mike Dunn. Will Venable then proceeded to single over the rightfielders head. PADRES WIN!!! PADRES WIN!!! PADRES WIN!!!
The winning pitcher was Heath Bell who improved to 3-4 and Edward Mujica is now 8-5.
