Thats 2

In a nailbiter the Padres improved to 57-70 with a 4-3 vitory over the Marlins last night. It started out early with each team scoring a run in the 1st. Another run did not cross the plate until the top of the 4th when Chris Volstad helped his cause with a RBI double to make it 2-1. The Pads came back in the bottom half of that inning when Kyle Blanks hit a 2 run homer over the left field wall (395 feet). In the bottom of the 5th Jason Bartlett added to that lead with a RBI single which plated Will Venable and made it 4-2. In the top of the 6th the Marlins had the bases loaded one out when rookie reliever Erik Hamren came in. He proceeded to strike out Mike Stanton then he walked Emilio Bonifacio to make it 4-3 and he ended his apperance with a srike out of Gaby Sanchez. Chad Qualls came in for the 7th and gave up 1 hit but got his 14th hold. In the 8th Josh Spence came in and faced one batter then Luke Gregerson came in to finish the inning. Finally, Heath Bell came in and finished the game off for his 34th save. Wade LeBlanc got the win and improved to 2-2 and Chris Volstad is now 5-10.

The pitching matchup for game 3 is Aaron Harang (11-3 4.08 ERA) vs. former Padre Clay Hensley (1-4  4.53 ERA)
